Description
BILL EVANS 「 OSAKA 1978」
Bill Evans was a white, solitary jazz piano prodigy in a jazz scene that was predominantly African-American. He was recognized by Miles Davis, and his piano playing on the famous Kind Of Blue album is very famous.
From Evans' last concert in Japan in 1978, a live performance at Kosei-Nenkin Kaikan in Osaka on September 13. This is an open reel master from a famous taper who recorded many jazz giants' concerts in Japan in the 70's. The exceptional sound quality of this master made many jazz fans gasp. This is an amazingly high quality recording from an open reel master that belonged to a famous taper, who was a great admirer of jazz music. This is a high quality sound recorded directly from a new master tape that has never been available on the market, even among traders!
The sound is dynamic and deep, with clear sound contours, a sense of separation and balance, and the difference is obvious at a glance! You can fully enjoy the graceful piano of Evans in a spacious and realistic sound.
The tension of the live performance with drummer Philly Joe Jones and Mark Johnson, who joined the band in April of that year, is superb, and Bill Evans' uniquely delicate touch can be heard to a wonderful degree.
This performance from the 1978 Japan tour is still an ultra-rare recording that can only be heard on this item.
