Original souvenir program for THE AMERICAN FOLK, BLUES FESTIVAL 1964. The AMERICAN FOLK BLUES FESTIVAL was a music festival that toured Europe as an annual event for several years beginning in 1962. It introduced audiences in Europe, including the UK, to leading blues performers of the day most of whom had never previously performed outside the US. The text is in German and English.

The program includes bios and photos of the artists on the bill. This one has autographs of six of the performers. They are: WILLIE DIXON - SUNNYLAND SLIM - LIGHTNING HOPKINS - SUGAR PIE DESANTOS - SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON - HOWLIN WOLF / CHESTER BURNETT.

The 48 pages measure about 10 7/8 x 10 inches. The pages are a quality lighter stock paper with shiny finish The cover is a light card stock with shiny finish.

The program appears complete but is in rough condition. However, none of the signatures is affected. Cover has wear and creases. Staples are rusted and the middle seven leaf pages have come unattached. Paper has variable degrees of handling, aging and wrinkling but no tears or major stains. There is no major water damage but looks like there is a small area along the bottom that may have been moist. It does have a light mustiness.
