Tour Program: RUSH the complete tour books Signed. Neil Peart, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson
RUSH the complete tour books Signed.
You are bidding on an ultra-rare piece of Rush history. This extremely limited edition keepsake was sold on The Rush Backstage Club website (the band's official merchandising site) in December of 2005. Only 500 of these sets were produced, each hand numbered and signed in silver ink by Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart themselves. They sold out swiftly in a matter of weeks, and once they were gone, that was it; the limited edition version was never to be sold again. Only 500 of these exist in the world.
This exquisitely bound and lavishly printed book contains reproductions of every Rush tourbook from 2112 right up through the R30 tour commemorating the band's 30th anniversary. Each tourbook includes tour credits, thoughts and detailed equipment lists from each band member, and discographies. But most of all, they contain a plethora of amazing photographs spanning the majority of the band's long and storied history. Also, beginning with Permanent Waves, each tourbook contains a thoughtful and well-written essay penned by Neil Peart reflecting upon the writing and recording of each album with his comments on the music and lyrical themes.
This book is in mint condition, and has only been taken out of its slipcase once in order to take photos for this auction. It has not been read at all, only opened (very carefully) to the middle in order to take the photo you see below. The level quality and craftsmanship that went into the creation of this book is astonishing.
This is the ultimate gift for the ultimate Rush fan that will last a lifetime.
Here is the description taken from the Rush Backstage site:
A truly original product, Rush - The Complete Tourbooks 1977-2004. This is a 400 page coffee table book with all of Rush's tour books to date, a total of 15 books. The books have been reproduced and bound together in a black, cloth-wrapped 12 X 12 book. Every cover of every book is printed on cover stock. The front cover is debossed in black and silver foil with the starman logo. There is a two-page introduction written by Neil Peart, detailing his involvement in the design and content of every Rush tour book going back to 1977.
Here is an excerpt from Neil’s intro:
"Whatever it took, I wanted those tour books ready for the first show, because they were important to me — partly because they fell into my “works on paper” department, but more than that, because I liked them. I had often bought tour books at other people’s shows, and kept them as souvenirs, so I understood the value of them to the buyer, and it was (and is) satisfying to see that each of ours was nicer in every way than the one before."
