7-1/2 IPS 4-TRACK REEL TAPE
COLUMBIA CQ 565 :
JOHNNY CASH - BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS

The sound quality of this 7-1/2 ips 4-track tape is excellent and so is the stereo . Both sides of this 4-track tape play from start to finish with no issues. The tape still looks new; it’s flat, shiny and supple, and packed flat on the original reel.

Please see the photos to check the condition of the box and reel.

This prerecorded tape is totally complete, nothing is missing, but, as is often the case with 4-tracks, there's normally a section of unrecorded tape.
On this particular tape there’s a fairly long section of blank tape after the last song on Side 1, “Another Man Done Gone”. Apparently a previous owner took advantage of this blank tape and recorded Dean Martin’s hit song "(Remember Me) I’m the One Who Loves You”.
Which is cool, I consider it a free added bonus.

Amazingly enough it actually sounds at least as good as Blood, Sweat and Tears, and it’s a great country song, which was also covered by Johnny Cash, appropriately enough.

Blood, Sweat and Tears is the fifteenth album by singer Johnny Cash, released in 1963 (see 1963 in music). It is a collection of songs about the American working man. This includes "The Legend of John Henry's Hammer" and "Busted", the latter of which would become a single. Both would also be performed by Cash during his famous 1968 concerts at Folsom Prison and be included in the 1999 extended reissue of the album, At Folsom Prison. The album was included on the Bear Family Records box set Come Along and Ride This Train.

John R. Cash (born J. R. Cash; February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. Much of Cash's music contained themes of sorrow, moral tribulation, and redemption, especially in the later stages of his career. He was known for his deep, calm bass-baritone voice, the distinctive sound of his Tennessee Three backing band characterized by train-like chugging guitar rhythms, a rebelliousness coupled with an increasingly somber and humble demeanor, free prison concerts, and a trademark all-black stage wardrobe which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black".

Born to poor cotton farmers in Kingsland, Arkansas, Cash rose to fame in the burgeoning rockabilly scene in Memphis, Tennessee, after four years in the Air Force. He traditionally began his concerts by simply introducing himself, "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash", followed by “Folsom Prison Blues", one of his signature songs. Alongside "Folsom Prison Blues", his other signature songs include “I Walk the Line”, "Ring of Fire”, “Get Rhythm", and “Man in Black". He also recorded humorous numbers like “One Piece at a Time” and “A Boy Named Sue", a duet with his future wife June “Jackson" (followed by many further duets after their wedding), and railroad songs such as “Hey, Porter”, “Orange Blossom Special l", and “Rock Island Line". During the last stage of his career, he covered songs by contemporary rock artists of the time; his most notable covers were “Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails, “Rusty Cage” by Soundgarden, and “Personal Jesus” by. Depeche Mode.

Cash is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 90 million records worldwide. His genre-spanning music embraced country, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk and gospel sounds. This crossover appeal earned him the rare honor of being inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.
