TRIPLE JOHNNY CASH - ORIGINAL - HATCH SHOW PRINT Letterpress Poster
Printed on Antique Letterpress on Lower Broad in the 90's
Condition: Minor handling wear, see all photos. VERY NICE PLATE MARKS - photos taken in direct sunlight to highlight everything, including the wonderful plate marks, which is the glare you see in close up photos #5 & #6 to highlight individual plate marks from passing through the press.
Verso: typical paint bleed marks plus inch size "w" and a dot scrible mark in green marker which does not show through front. Should frame nice.

BROADWAY ADDRESS - without street number
PRINTED at Broadway Shop which is where this Design was originally created.
NOT DATED - FIRST ORIGINAL EARLY PRINTINGS FROM 90's not dated as they were created as art pieces by Jim Sherraden Manager & Curator and also at the time he started creating his monoprints.
This one was likely one of the first runs due to Street address as Broadway (previous location before moving to the Country Music Hall of Fame on 5TH AVE. SOUTH and street number (316) not included. Print not dated and not owned by Cash family Trust which has licensing control over newer versions.
~ NEWER VERSIONS have YELLOW BACKGROUND & BLACK TYPE and new address of 224 5TH AVE SOUTH Copyright Date & licensed by John R. Cash Revocable Trust. New posters can only be printed with permission of the John R. Cash Revocable Trust and can be purchased from Hatch Show Print for about $16.00.

Backstory:
In the 90's, Hatch Manager Jim Sherraden was giving a tour of the shop to a group of scouts and demonstrating the antique printing presses. He used a vintage photo plate of Johnny Cash and ran it through the press. He didn't like the first strike so he moved it over and tried again. He thought it looked pretty cool so he moved it over again for a third strike and this became the birth of their most popular poster.
