Is this information accurate?
Is this Item a Fake or Counterfeit?
EnfieldRecords is now back on eBay! (Check the Discogs Feedback, to separate, we named the one on this platform EnfieldVinyl).
Check out our "World" sale, 100+ records (mostly LP's, some choice 45's), Afro / Caribbean (Islands, Reggae) / Latin (Including Tejano, Brazilian) / Middle Eastern. The styles are funk, jazz, soul, psych, and some traditional music native to country of origin :)
None of these items are on our Discogs page :).
All items are first pressings, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Helpful hint: All items are listed in order alphabetically of label, beginning with geographical location, so "ending soonest" is the best filter in the search, it will go first by region; Afro, onto Caribbean (including Islands, Reggae), Latin (including Tejano, and Brazilian), then Middle Eastern, subgenres are grouped together, so Tejano lp's are within Latin, and grouped alphabetical say El Zarape then GCP, etc., :)
No Reserve price for any item, 7-Day auction, conservative grading, bid with confidence!
- Media Grade: NM
- Sleeve Grade: VG+ (very light fraying, inner of gatefold has light ringwear, conservative grade, see photos)
- Year / Label / Catalogue #: 1972 / Philips / 6305 181
- Additional attributes, Country of Origin, etc. : 1st press, gatefold, German pressing
- Other Contents (i.e. inserts, posters, company sleeve, etc.): Original generic Philips EU sleeve
- Brief Comments: 1st press 1972 original, German pressing, seriously the fidelity of the Philips is way out of this world compared to the US Janus, pressed on virgin vinyl, it's basically like the audiophile pressing! Cymande needs no introduction, nor does this legendary album, it sounds like a best of....
Our Grading Scale is: NM, EX (Also known as VG+), VG+, VG, VG-, G+. Anything under G+, which is almost certainly unlikely, except in a possible extreme case of rarity, will be considered "Thrashed".
Any record that is VG or below will have a description of why, VG+ and above will stand on the merits of our grading outline.
*note that due to the VPI being in storage at the other side of the country, there could be dust, which is not factored into the grading*
- NM = As close to pristine as a vintage record can get, almost like brand new.
- EX = If under bright light there exists a faint scuff, or light marks, which will be inaudible, most collectors, and dealers would consider this closer to the common use of "NM" (*some use VG+ instead of EX, our EX is VG+ with the same conditions)
- VG+ = More than a small handful of light marks, nothing that can be felt, will have high-gloss (or in rare situations where the play grade is EX, and the visual is VG, VG+ is the composite grade), a thoroughly enjoyable copy with only moments of barely perceptible surface noise, over the music. VG+ will satisfy the majority of collector's as a very nice keeper copy. If an otherwise EX or NM record as a warp that doesn't effect play, it will go to VG+ and the warp will always be noted, the one exception to no notating VG+ & above records.
- VG = More hairlines, marks, maybe a few scratches, no more than two feelable scratches, which would bring it to VG-, any feelable scratch will be noted! There will likely be some surface noise, but will play through, still being an enjoyable copy, and the audio quality will satisfy most collectors (as collectors ourselves, we apply the golden rule, if it wouldn't satisfy us, it won't be VG). If a record is otherwise EX, but has a slight skip, we'll note this, under VG, a momentary thing, but 99% of the record is wonderful, this seems fair with making sure that information in that case is provided.
- VG- = More scratches than VG, surface noise that will jump out at you in parts, may be over music or at the level of music for long stretches. It will likely play the whole way through on most turntables, it will be a copy you can still get some decent play enjoyment from.
- G+ = Lot of scratches, deeper ones, surface noise will now have mostly overpowered or competed with the music, it may skip in some places. We don't tend to sell G+ records unless the rarity is so great, to merit it's sale, and in these G+ cases, like with VG, VG -, all defects will be outlined, described by Media condition.
- Thrashed = Pretty much a theoretical grade, it would be for all intents & purposes virtually unplayable, this would be for maybe display purposes, or if you need the cover, it's "theoretical" because we haven't sold any so far.
*A Word regarding cover grades, (Any seam split will be mentioned in the sleeve condition section, measured in inches, including the location, as far as cover wear, ring wear, anything that can be visibly seen, we ask you to look at the photo's, of course any questions are welcome regarding grading, edition, matrix numbers, etc.)
We are here to deliver as accurately as possible, from the mindset as collector's first, on our grading (visual & audio), being human, and given we all know grading to an extent is as much art (i.e. subjective judgement by experience) as science (the clear radial scratch is empirically there), if there ever is a mistake, we are happy to correct it, the point is to leave every person who purchases from us completely satisfied, we aren't people in this to trick our fellow record collectors, we're here to delight with these treasured albums, 45's, etc. :)
We don't use "Mint", a record that is sealed will be "Still Sealed" and described i.e. "flat copy", "looks like new".
NM is a grade reserved for the very few, most of our records fall between VG+ to EX, conservatively graded. If the record is seen by the buyer as better than described, that makes us happy :).
Everything is guaranteed, meaning 100% refund, no questions asked! We stand by the integrity of delivering satisfaction, and the hope is in doing our job, we will have delivered a cherished album to add to your collection, but on the slight chance of any human error, we want you to rest assured and bid with confidence! :D
