Vinyl: Record Hole Punch - Dinker - Dinking Tool

This is a very rare item to find in the US. It's a record hole cutter; known in the UK as a Dinker, or Dinking Tool. Some 45 RPM records are pressed with a small center hole; not the commonly seen large hole 45. This tool neatly punches the large 45 hole. I have used this and it does work. To a vinyl collector, it's a great conversation piece, if not a useful tool. Also, UK and AU records will not play in a jukebox. That's the reason for the Dinker.

To use this tool:

• Using the beveled end of the hex wrench, ream the small center hole to the diameter of the hex tool.
• With the upper portion of the cutter on the threaded bolt, place the record on the threaded bolt, up against the upper cutting portion.
• Wind the lower cutter on to the threaded bolt until it snugs up against the record.
• Place the flat of the lower cutter in a vice.
• Slowly and steadily turn the hex wrench until the hole is punched. Do not stop until hole is punched.
