According to Massenet, he saw the novel in Meilhac's library and decided to prepare the story for the stage. Meilhac had two acts finished in 24 hours. Massenet composed much of the music in a house in Belgium where the Abbé Prévost himself lived.

I have not inspected this out of frame, it has yellowed around the edges of the poster beside the black mat. The overall image has yellowed but in good condition. The image does have waves on the edges beside the black mat. I am sure it has never been vacuumed seal on board.
