Original 1st print Version 1 Stereo cover of The Beatles 1st album, “Introducing the Beatles”, released in the US by Vee-Jay Records on January 10th, 1964. Even though unfortunately the vinyl of this copy has been lost, the cover alone is highly collectible and incredibly rare. This original Stereo cover contains a blank white paste over slick on the back and is known among the collectors as the "Blank Back" cover , which most likely was used as a cover for promotional issues of the album, or perhaps, was the result of a production error. It's certain that the blank back was used as a limited transitional run after all Ad Back slicks had been used up. The currently listed copy remains in the original fully intact factory shrink wrap and contains a large “Stereophonic” banner on the front at the top as well as the “Printed in U.S.A.” text at the bottom left corner which is extremely rare as the majority of “Blank Back” covers don’t have it. Possibly, it’s the best example of this cover variation that we’ve come across with, which has the blank back paste over slick in outstanding virgin condition . The cover contains the original Vee-Jay Records “Other Fine Albums Of Significant Interest" white background inner sleeve featuring 25 color photos of other Vee-Jay releases on each side. This cover contained a Version 1 Stereo vinyl and according to the owner of the copy was most likely replaced at one of the parties that he took it to, which was common practice at the time when it was popular for record owners to bring a copy of their album to a party. We decided to list this cover without a wrong vinyl in order to preserve the authenticity.
★
One of the best and most beautiful examples of the "Blank Back" cover we've come across with. It remains in the original factory shrink wrap and is in truly amazing condition. It's graded as Near Mint and would be Mint Minus if it wasn't due to some super light push-ins to the top and bottom right corners, which are probably not even worth mentioning considering the rarity of this issue. The original Vee-Jay Records inner sleeves is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears.
