78 rpm: Frank Sinatra Personal Studio Acetate Record Collection 78rpm-45rpm Ava Gardner
Frank Sinatra Personal Studio Acetate Record Collection 78rpm-45rpm
“Studio recordings are in remarkable visual & audible condition”
Make an offer. Great Christmas gift for the avid collector or fan!
It is with great pleasure and I am excited to offer these recordings for one of Ava Gardner’s heirs.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a slice of both Hollywood and Music history from two of the most famous icons in entertainment.
Ava and Frank were married in the 50s but remained great friends throughout their lives.
These recordings were in Ava’s personal collection and no doubt brought home by Frank from the studio and played in their home when they were married in the early 1950s. Frank must have also given Ava the 45RPM master references recorded in 1963.
These are studio acetates brought home by Frank for evaluation! Some cuts were never commercially recorded.
The 9 recordings are of great fidelity and Frank’s incredible voice is upfront of the band with lots of volume. One might say it sounds as if Frank is in the room!
Each recording is detailed and sound graded below with any exceptions noted. All acetates are 78 rpm except two noted. Some have labels and ones without have a grease pen marking with song title.
Along with your winning bid and payment, you will get a personal Letter of Authenticity (LOA) signed and notarized by the owner, Ava’s heir. (Confidentiality of the heir’s identity is requested but revealed to the winning bidder.)
Additionally, a CD recorded off the records will be provided.
NOTE: Not all records/sides may be shown. I put examples in for overall visible condition representation.

The VJM Record Grading System.
I do my best to be accurate with record condition. I play records as I list as some can look and play differently.
Given the historical value and being acetates, I have NOT tried any cleaning whatsoever.
NM- Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.
E+ Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets.
E Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.
E- Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, few light scuffs and scratches some audible noise but minimal
V+ Average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.
V Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.
V- Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.
G+ Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.
G Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise.
G- Music still prominent, but wear and scratch damage extensive.
F Most of music remains audible over surface noise, but listening quality is compromised.
Records will be sandwiched in appropriate corrugated pads, in an oversized box and padded with newspaper or other suitable protection.
Records are suspended in the center of the box and away from the sides to ensure their safety.
